The Coral Harbour North Stars won the 2026 Terence Tootoo Memorial Cup in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, on February 22, 2026. The youth team defeated the Rankin Rock 5-3 in the final game of the five-day tournament. This was the first time in 25 years that the event focused on players under the age of 18 instead of senior men.
The final match at the Agnico Eagle Arena was decided in the final minutes of the third period. Connor Eetuk scored a tie-breaking goal with five minutes left on the clock. Two minutes later, Robert Ell scored an insurance goal to guarantee the victory for Coral Harbour.
According to tournament board chair Troy Aksalnik, the competition moved to a youth format this year to focus on local sport development for teenagers. Coach Tooma Natsiq Sr. led the North Stars through the competition, which saw teams travel from several communities to participate. Former professional player Jordin Tootoo also shared a video message with the participants, encouraging them to play fair and support one another.
The tournament ran from February 18 to February 22 and drew large crowds to the arena. The arrival of visiting teams and families provided a boost to local businesses and brought the community together to celebrate the legacy of Terence Tootoo.
