The Young At Heart Women’s Hockey Tournament is returning to Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, this spring as organizers finalize the 2026 event schedule. This regional competition brings female athletes together at the Agnico Eagle Arena for a weekend of games and community gathering.

Local businesses expect more visitors as teams from across the Kivalliq region, including the Whale Cove women’s team, travel to town to compete. These visitors often fill local hotels and eat at community restaurants, providing a boost to the local economy during the tournament weekend.

According to AJ Curley, the Recreation Coordinator for the Hamlet of Rankin Inlet, registration details and specific dates will be announced soon. Residents can watch for the final schedule and ticket information on the town’s official events page.

This tournament is part of a busy local hockey season that has already seen youth championships and corporate games in early 2026. Other changes to the local hockey scene include the Terence Tootoo Memorial moving to a youth format for players under 18 and the senior men’s competition being renamed the Agnico Eagle Cup.
