Families heading to the Westerner Days Fair & Exposition in Red Deer, Alberta, this summer can look forward to a fresh lineup of kid-friendly attractions. The full schedule for the 2026 event, running July 15 to 19 at Westerner Park, is now posted online, revealing several new acts aimed at younger fairgoers.
New this year is Little Rodeo Pro, an interactive rodeo experience built for children ages 4 to 12. Kids can try barrel racing, roping dummies, and eight-second rides during one of three daily performances at 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm, and 7:00 pm.
Also joining the lineup is Doo Doo the Clown, the entertainer known to many parents from the movie Billy Madison. With more than 30 years of experience, he will perform multiple shows each day inside the Kidventure area. Kidventure, housed in the air-conditioned Parkland Pavilion, opens daily at noon and features free shows and activities for children 12 and under, including the returning Junior’s Firefighting Challenge obstacle course.
At The Junction venue, Dogs Do Magic brings mind-reading and trick-performing dogs to the fair. The show stars magician Aaron Matthews, who has appeared on Canada’s Got Talent and Disney Plus. Showtimes are set for 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm on opening day.
Returning crowd-pleasers include the Flying Fools High Dive Show, with acrobatic divers leaping from platforms as high as 25 meters into a small pool. Catch them three times daily at 2:00 pm, 5:00 pm, and 8:00 pm. Daily fireworks light up the sky at 11:00 pm, and the Westerner Days Parade kicks everything off through downtown Red Deer on July 15 at 9:30 am.
Gates are open from noon to midnight each day. The complete attraction schedule is available at westernerdays.ca, making it easier for families to plan their visits around the acts their kids want to see most.
