Red Deer Polytechnic has added its 2026 Visual Arts Year-End Student Exhibition to the community calendar, with a public opening on April 2, 2026, in Red Deer, Alberta. The event will take place at the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery starting at 7:00 pm.
The show features work from first and second-year students in the school’s Visual Art Program. Visitors can see a variety of pieces including paintings, drawings, ceramics, and art created using new technologies.
According to Red Deer Polytechnic, this annual event gives emerging artists the chance to show their work in a professional setting. By hosting the exhibition at the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery, the school aims to bring more people to the downtown area to support local businesses.
The exhibition marks the end of the winter semester for students working toward their diploma. This program is currently eligible for full-time student aid through the province for the 2025–2026 school year.
The tradition of moving student work into public spaces helps prepare artists for their careers after graduation. The event is a low-cost cultural opportunity for residents to see the results of campus training firsthand.
