Students and staff at Holy Family School in Red Deer, Alberta, are preparing to wear pink on February 25, 2026, to take a stand against bullying. This annual event, known as Pink Shirt Day, encourages the school community to focus on kindness and student safety through special activities and classroom lessons.

This year, the national theme for the day is Sprinkle Kindness. Principal Jeff Tuchscherer oversees the school, which serves families with children in Kindergarten to Grade 5 living in the Deer Park, Lancaster, and Vanier areas.

The event takes place just after the school was closed for teacher training days from February 17 to February 20, 2026. According to Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools, wearing the colour pink is a visible way for everyone in the building to show they are unified against bullying.

The day is designed to help younger students learn about empathy and respect for others. By participating, the school joins a larger movement across Canada to create friendlier environments for all children.
