Friday started off mostly cloudy at the Medicine Hat Airport with a temperature of 10.3°C and 83 percent humidity. There is a 30 percent chance of showers this morning, with the high reaching only 17°C. Winds becoming northwest at 20 km/h, and the UV index is 6, or high.
The change will be noticeable by Saturday, which brings a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 21°C. Overnight, the sky is expected to be clear with a low of 6°C. Sunday looks even better with sunny conditions and a high of 25°C, followed by another clear night and a low of 9°C. The warmup peaks on Monday, when sunshine pushes the high to 28°C, about five degrees above normal.
Residents should be aware that the UV index will be high, reaching 6 on Friday and 7 on Saturday, so sun protection is advised for those heading outdoors. The clear and warm pattern is a welcome break, given that June is historically the wettest month in the area, typically bringing about 82 mm of rain over eight days.
