Regina, Saskatchewan is expecting 25 to 35 centimetres of snow and wind gusts up to 80 kilometres per hour starting Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Environment and Climate Change Canada issued an orange snowfall warning and a yellow blowing snow advisory as a major storm moves through the area.
The heavy snow is expected to start Tuesday afternoon and continue into the night before tapering off on February 18, 2026. This storm is part of a larger weather system stretching across the province from Meadow Lake down to Estevan.
Officials say the combination of falling snow and strong winds will make it very difficult to see while driving. Residents are being asked to avoid any travel that is not essential because of the risk of road closures and power outages.
The City of Regina reminds people that property owners must clear snow from sidewalks next to their homes within 24 to 48 hours after the snow stops. This single storm could bring about one-quarter of the total snow the city usually sees in an entire year.
