SaskPower has planned a one-hour power outage for the River Heights neighbourhood in Regina, Saskatchewan, on February 26, 2026. This break in service will happen from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. while crews perform necessary maintenance on the local electrical system.
The work will affect residents living on the 2500 block of Wascana Street, the 3900 block of 17th Avenue, and Qu’Appelle Drive. The utility company is doing this work to keep the local power supply reliable for everyone in the area.
This work comes while the city faces very cold winter temperatures, with forecasts calling for lows between -9°C and -17°C on Thursday. Residents should charge their phones and other devices before the power goes out at 1:30 p.m. to prepare for the hour without heat.
This planned outage follows a major snowstorm on February 18, 2026, which left 15,000 people in the Regina area without power. By performing these repairs now, the company hopes to prevent more unexpected outages during the coldest part of the year.
