Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan is now looking for volunteers for its new Regina location, which is set to open in January 2027. This recruitment drive is a major step for the charity as it prepares to move from construction to providing services for local families.
The new facility is located at the corner of Scarth Street and 15th Avenue, near the Regina General Hospital. Volunteers will help with daily chores and support for families, allowing parents to stay close to their sick children during hospital stays.
The Government of Saskatchewan gave $6.5 million to help pay for the building, which started construction in March 2025. The project is designed to help families from the southern part of the province who currently have to travel long distances for medical care.
Interested residents can apply to volunteer through the organization’s website starting today. Staff from the charity will begin contacting people who qualify for the roles in the summer of 2026.
The goal of the new house in Regina, along with a similar project in Prince Albert, is to significantly increase how many families the charity can support. Once finished, the organization expects to meet about 50 per cent of the provincial need, up from the current 20 per cent.
