The Rimbey Community Library will be closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025; Thursday, January 1, 2026; and Monday, February 16, 2026. Patrons should plan ahead for returns, holds and visits during the holidays. In-person services will be suspended on Christmas Day (Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1). The Feb. 16 (Family Day) notice falls on a Monday, when the library is normally closed, so no additional suspension of regular in-person services is necessary although holiday programming will not occur.

Regular hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The announced closures will affect the Thursday evening hours when the library typically stays open later. Patrons should confirm hours before visiting at the library’s Location & Hours page.

Digital resources — including eBooks and audiobooks available through Libby/OverDrive and other e-library services — remain available 24/7. Physical materials can be returned in the outside book drop during holiday closures. For holds or account questions, visit the library’s website.

The Rimbey Community Library follows Alberta’s statutory holiday calendar. While Boxing Day (December 26) is an Alberta statutory holiday and often sees modified hours, it was not listed in this particular notice; patrons should confirm hours for Dec. 26 if they plan to visit. Patrons are encouraged to pick up reserved items early to avoid overdue charges.
