The Rimbey Community Library in Rimbey, Alberta, is hosting several activities for families, teens, and adults from February 3 to February 12, 2026. These programs include everything from children’s story times and teen gaming to health and fitness classes designed to help residents stay active and connected during the winter months.

Young children can attend the long-running “Storytime with Sue” (host Sue Pankiw) or join weekly sessions for sensory play, while teenagers have their own space for technology activities and drop-in Dungeons & Dragons games. These social groups are part of an effort by the library, which is a member of the Parkland Regional Library (PRL), to serve as a local hub for all ages following its building expansion.

Starting February 5, 2026, the library will begin a five-week series on nutrition to help residents learn about healthy eating; note that the Nutrition series typically requires pre-registration, so participants should confirm registration details with the library. For those looking to stay active, there are also Pilates classes specifically for women with childcare available — patrons should verify and reserve childcare spots when registering if required.

Library manager Jean Keetch says the goal is to provide a comfortable place where people can feel they belong without having to pay a fee. According to coverage in the local news, the library’s expansion (completed in 2022) created the extra room needed to host these workshops. More details about specific times can be found on the library’s social media events page.
