On February 6, 2026, the Salt Spring Film Festival Society released its official program guide for the festival’s 25th-anniversary edition. The festival runs on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, from Friday, February 27 to Sunday, March 1, 2026, with a gala on Friday, February 27. The new guide lists more than 30 feature-length documentaries and numerous short films to help residents and visitors plan their weekend.

The primary venue is Gulf Islands Secondary School (GISS) in Ganges, where classrooms are transformed into intimate screening rooms. Organizers say this milestone year emphasizes stories from a range of voices around the world; local coverage in the Gulf Islands Driftwood has highlighted similar programming themes focused on social justice and the environment.

The program guide is available online and in print, and printed copies can be picked up at local hubs such as ArtSpring. Festival passes and tickets are available through the ArtSpring box office and the festival website. The event is a major cultural draw for the island and is expected to attract significant regional visitors during the late-winter shoulder season.

The festival traces its roots to a community event revived in 1999; the Salt Spring Film Festival Society is a non-profit charitable society incorporated in 2008. Over 25 years the event has grown into one of the region’s leading documentary festivals. The new schedule and online program allow moviegoers to see when each film and short will screen and to plan their festival weekend.
