Algoma University in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is hosting a series of online information sessions throughout March 2026 to help residents start or continue their university education. The event, known as Pathways Month, provides a way for college graduates, university transfer students, and adult learners to get direct help with their applications and program choices.
The sessions focus on showing college graduates how they can use their previous credits to earn a university degree in as little as one year. To help with the cost of applying, the university is waiving application fees for domestic pathway applicants who attend these virtual presentations. These meetings allow people to talk directly with staff who can explain exactly how their past school credits will count toward a new degree.
This initiative comes as the school works to make the transfer process smoother through new technology. The Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer recently provided a grant to help the university set up a secure digital system for academic records. This system is designed to help students move between different schools and have their achievements recognized more quickly.
The presentations are available from March 1 to March 31, 2026, which is a month earlier than the events held the previous year. This shift in the recruitment timeline aims to streamline the transfer process for students looking to enroll. During the online events, specialists are available to answer questions about specific programs and the steps needed to enroll.
