The Sault Community Theatre Centre is now accepting public nominations for its annual Friends of the Theatre Awards in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Residents have until June 30, 2026, to put forward individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to the local performing arts scene.
The awards program recognizes excellence across four categories. These include Outstanding Volunteer Service, which honours those who dedicate their time to support the theatre, and Excellence in Artistic Contribution, which celebrates creative professionals like designers and directors. The program also features the Community Partnership Award for supportive businesses, as well as the Youth Achievement in Theatre category for individuals under 18 years of age.
Nominations can be submitted through an online form or in person at the box office located inside the Station Mall at 293 Bay Street. The theatre board notes that the nomination process is strictly confidential to protect the privacy of all involved until winners are announced at a special ceremony held at the centre in September 2026. For additional information or questions, the box office can be reached at 705-945-7299.
