Sault Ste. Marie residents have less than a week left to buy tickets for the Sault Area Hospital Foundation 5 Car Draw, with ticket sales closing June 22 at 11:59 PM. The grand prize, drawn June 23 at about 10:00 AM, is a Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4WD Crew Cab worth $101,192.63, or an $80,000 cash option. Money raised helps buy medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital.
This is the 36th year for the draw, which has raised over $5 million since 1989. This year, more than $300,000 in prizes are up for grabs across 14 chances to win. Executive Director Teresa Martone says the community’s support makes a real difference for local healthcare.
Before the grand prize, two early bird deadlines are still open. Get tickets by 11:59 PM on June 18 for a shot at $5,000 in Esso gas gift cards from McDougall Energy. Purchase by 11:59 PM on June 21 to be in the running for $10,000 cash, provided by Pino’s Get Fresh. Nine early bird draws are part of the overall prize lineup.
Tickets are sold at several price points: one for $25, three for $70, five for $100, or eight for $150. All tickets in a bundle must be under the same name. They can be bought online at 5car.ca, by calling 705-759-3434 ext. 7278, or in person at the Foundation office at 750 Great Northern Road on weekdays between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Buyers must be at least 18 and in Ontario when purchasing.
Proceeds from the draw go toward vital medical equipment at Sault Area Hospital. For the 2026/27 year, the Foundation plans to purchase 83 priority pieces of equipment across departments, with a total need of $7.7 million. The hospital’s emergency department alone sees about 27,000 patients annually.
