Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario is in for a stretch of warm, sunny weather this week with no weather alerts in effect, according to Environment Canada.
The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies from Monday through Wednesday, with daytime highs climbing well above the seasonal average. Monday will reach 22°C, Tuesday is expected to hit 22°C, and Wednesday should be the warmest at 27°C. These temperatures are several degrees above the normal June maximum of 20°C.
The The Weather Network confirms clear conditions and almost no chance of rain through midweek, though it forecasts a warmer Tuesday high of 26°C. The sunny stretch is expected to break on Thursday when there is a chance of showers.
With over 15 and a half hours of daylight this week, residents have plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors. Sunrise is at 5:48 a.m. and sunset is at 9:22 p.m.
The UV index is forecast to hit 6 (high) on Monday and 7 (high) on Wednesday. Environment Canada’s forecast for Tuesday shows a UV index of 8, which is considered very high. Health Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada recommend limiting time in the sun between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. when the UV index is very high, wearing a hat and sunglasses, and using sunscreen with at least SPF 30.
