The Lord Selkirk School Division is scheduled to host the ID & Benefit Information Clinic – Resource Fair on April 17, 2026, to help local families in Selkirk, Manitoba, access essential identification and government benefits. The event, which will be held at Selkirk Junior High, is designed to provide direct support for residents who need help navigating the paperwork required for vital documents and financial assistance.
During the fair, organizers and community support partners will provide guidance on how to apply for birth certificates, Social Insurance Numbers, and Treaty Cards. Families will also be able to receive one-on-one help with various government benefit applications to ensure they can access the support programs available to them.
The school division organizes these types of clinics to act as a central hub for the 15 schools it operates across the region. This service area includes the City of Selkirk as well as nearby communities like Lockport, St. Andrews, Clandeboye, Petersfield, Libau, Grand Marais, and Victoria Beach.
The goal of the event is to remove common barriers that often prevent households from obtaining necessary records. By helping families secure these documents, the division aims to create a more stable environment for students and their parents throughout the community.
