The City of Selkirk, Manitoba, will mail property and business tax bills to residents by the end of June 2026. This year marks a return to the city’s regular tax timeline after a one-time deadline extension was granted last year.
All tax payments are due by 4:00 PM on July 31, 2026. Any payments received after this deadline will be charged a 1.25 per cent penalty on the last day of every month until the bill is paid in full.
Homeowners should check their bills for the Homeowner Affordability Tax Credit, which replaces previous school tax rebates and is expected to provide a credit of up to $1,600 for 2026. If the credit is not automatically applied to a bill, residents have until November 15, 2026, to apply through the Manitoba Tax Assistance Office to receive a refund.
The city advises those using online banking to send their money at least five business days before the deadline to ensure it arrives on time. Residents who use automatic monthly payment plans must also manually increase their payment amounts in August to cover yearly tax increases, as these plans are not updated automatically by the city.
