The St. Andrews Heritage Centre near Selkirk, Manitoba, is hosting a free community art show throughout February 2026. Starting February 2, the Centre will transform the galleries of the St. Andrew’s Rectory National Historic Site into a month-long exhibition of paintings and other works by local artists from the Interlake and Winnipeg regions.
The exhibit is located at the St. Andrew’s Rectory National Historic Site (374 River Road) and will be open to the public Tuesday through Saturday. Visitors can stop by between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to see the artwork, which is integrated into the building’s regular history displays.
This year’s show features a mix of traditional media, including oil paintings of the Red River, and contemporary mixed‑media pieces that tell stories about local history. The event is organized by the St. Andrews Heritage Centre (managed by the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews) in partnership with Parks Canada, with support and promotion from arts organizations including the Manitoba Arts Network. The exhibition provides a no‑cost platform for participating local artists.
The Rectory was built between 1852 and 1854 and originally served as a home for the ministers of St. Andrews before becoming a museum and community heritage centre. Organizers say the show helps keep the historic site active during the winter months while giving neighbours a chance to see the creative talent in their own community.
