Young people and their families in Selkirk, Manitoba, can access free mental-health and wellness supports at Huddle Selkirk. The Huddle Selkirk centre, located at 365 Main Street, provides a youth-friendly space for people aged 12 to 29 to get help with counselling, addiction support and primary care.
The drop-in model is led by Peguis First Nation in partnership with the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority (IERHA) and other local partners, and is designed to reduce barriers such as long waitlists and the need for complex referrals. The hub brings multiple services together so young people do not need to visit several different offices to get help.
According to Huddle and United Way Winnipeg materials, the facility features a bright, welcoming environment with Indigenous artwork and snacks, and staff offer trauma-informed, culturally safe supports. Young people can access mental-health clinicians, primary-care services, addiction counselling, peer-led connection opportunities and other wraparound supports. Many services are available on a drop-in basis, though some programs operate by appointment.
Funding comes from the Province of Manitoba, United Way Winnipeg and federal Youth Mental Health Fund investments, among other partners, which helps keep services free for youth in the region. Huddle Selkirk opened in early 2023 and continues to operate as an ongoing integrated youth services hub; a refreshed outreach effort was run in early February 2026 to boost community awareness.
