The Town of Shediac, New Brunswick, has released the schedule for its 44th annual Winter Carnival, which runs from January 30 to February 8, 2026. The 10-day festival features community events including outdoor skating, live music, and children’s activities at local parks and centres.

A major highlight is the weekend family programming that culminates with Acoustic Sundays on Sunday, February 1. According to the SERSC calendar and the town’s event listings, Acoustic Sundays will take place at the Shediac Multipurpose Centre (doors at 1 p.m., shows at 2 p.m.); admission is $5 (cash only). Family-morning programming is scheduled over the weekend — the SERSC schedule lists ‘Snowflake Morning’ with inflatable games and craft workshops on Saturday, January 31 — so reporters should treat the weekend as a combined family block rather than attributing the morning workshop specifically to Feb. 1 unless a source confirms otherwise.

Many outdoor activities are scheduled for Pascal‑Poirier Park, which features the town’s refrigerated skating oval and supports reliable outdoor skating even in milder winters. The carnival program also includes professional comedy performances (the Hubcap festival is listed) and family workshops; several events use the town’s UniverusRec portal for registration, so attendees should check the booking site for any sessions that require advance sign-up.

Town officials — including staff in the Management and Administration area and the Community Living (Recreation) division — say the carnival is a way to bring people together and support local tourism. By emphasizing low-cost programming and family traditions, the town aims to keep residents active at local facilities throughout the mid-winter season.
