On Friday, March 13, 2026, five bus stops on Route 450 in Sherwood Park, Alberta, will close for a few hours due to construction work. Strathcona County Transit confirmed that the stops along Oak Street will be out of service between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The specific stops affected are numbered 6072, 6066, 6060, 6054, and 6048. To help commuters, a temporary bus stop will be available at the south end of Oak Street on the westbound side of Sherwood Drive during the construction window.
This short-term closure is part of a larger project by Strathcona County to improve local bus stops. Since June 2023, the county has been working to install new concrete pads at nearly 200 locations to make catching the bus safer and easier for everyone.
These upgrades are expected to continue throughout the community until the fall of 2026. The work on Oak Street is just one part of the multi-year effort to modernize transit stops for all riders.
