The Sherwood Park Crusaders have tied their second-round playoff series against the Brooks Bandits following a dramatic 5-4 overtime victory on April 22, 2026. The win, which took place in Sherwood Park, Alberta, shifted the momentum of the series and set the stage for a competitive finish in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) postseason.
Defenceman Ryan White played a pivotal role in the win, scoring the decisive goal 8:36 into overtime. White, who recorded four points during the game, has emerged as a key offensive contributor for the Sherwood Park Crusaders throughout the playoffs. With four goals and nine points in the postseason, he is currently matching the offensive production of teammate and centre Braeden O’Keefe, who leads the squad with six goals.
This series marks the third consecutive year that the Crusaders have faced the Brooks Bandits. To reach this point in the playoffs, the Crusaders successfully navigated a six-game series against the Blackfalds Bulldogs, concluding on April 14, 2026.
Under the leadership of General Manager and Head Coach Brennan Menard, the team is looking to maintain its performance against a dangerous Brooks lineup, which features the league’s leading playoff scorer, Dmitrijs Dilevka. The Crusaders continue their season as a non-profit Junior A organization, a status they have held since their inception in 1976 and throughout their transition to the current league in 2024.
