Residents of Sherwood Park and the rural service area of Strathcona County, Alberta, can now check how much their homes are worth according to the latest municipal assessment records. Strathcona County mailed out 2026 property assessment notices on February 2, 2026; the notices are also available online through the county’s MyAccounts portal.
Homeowners are encouraged to check their details through the MyAccounts portal to ensure information is correct. This is especially important this year because Strathcona County Council narrowly approved a 4.88 percent municipal tax increase for Budget 2026 in a 5-4 vote. Reviewing assessment figures now gives residents a chance to ask questions or request an informal review (within the county’s review period) before the final tax bills are issued in May.
The values on these assessment notices reflect market value as of July 1, 2025, and property condition as of December 31, 2025. If a resident believes their property value is not accurate, they can contact the county through the Assessment Inquiry (Residential) service. Addressing errors early can help avoid unexpected costs when final tax payments are due (the tax payment deadline is the last business day of June 2026).
