Businesses and the local museum in Sidney, British Columbia, are hosting a series of LEGO-themed events and shop promotions from February 15 to 17, 2026, to celebrate the Family Day long weekend. This town-wide festival offers local families several low-cost activities and displays to visit within walking distance of the downtown area.

One of the main activities is the Beacon Avenue Scavenger Hunt, where participants look for specific toy sets in shop windows. Organizers at Explore Sidney coordinate the hunt to help residents visit local retailers like Buddies Toys and Kiddin’ Around Children’s Store. People who find all the sets can enter a draw to win a prize.

The Sidney Museum is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of its annual brick exhibition, which stays open until April 6, 2026. During the long weekend, visitors can enter by donation to play games like guessing the number of bricks in a jar or searching for a hidden LEGO figure within the displays.

Large-scale building projects are also on display at the Mary Winspear Centre in Rooms 3 and 4. These displays are provided by the Victoria LEGO Users Group for the public to view throughout the holiday weekend.

Local businesses and organizations, including the presenting sponsor Peninsula Co-op, support the event to encourage people to shop locally during the winter season. The festival is expected to bring several thousand visitors to the community over the three-day period.
