The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB) announced a system‑wide closure of all schools, administrative buildings and transportation services across all zones — including Simcoe, Ontario — on Monday, January 26, 2026, because of a major winter storm.

High school students who were scheduled to write secondary exams on January 26 will now write them on January 27, 2026. The board confirmed the entire exam schedule will shift forward by one day to accommodate the closure. This change affects local schools including Holy Trinity Catholic High School, St. Joseph’s School, and St. Michael’s School (Walsh).

Student Transportation Services Brant Haldimand Norfolk (STSBHN) canceled all bus services in the early hours of Monday, Jan. 26; STSBHN posted notifications on its X (formerly Twitter) account and the board cited Environment Canada warnings for roughly 10–20 centimetres of snow for parts of the region. This storm follows another significant winter system on January 19, 2026, that had already left large amounts of snow on the ground in parts of Norfolk County.

Families are also facing cancellations for before‑ and after‑school programs, including the Holy Trinity Child Care Centre. All community rentals and public events scheduled to take place in school buildings are cancelled for the day while crews work to clear the snow.
