The Grand Erie District School Board is inviting students and staff in Simcoe, Ontario, to submit original artwork that interprets the board’s vision. The board launched the district-wide call for original artwork in February 2026 and is encouraging local participants to share their creative talents.

The board is seeking a variety of art styles, including paintings, digital designs, photography, and mixed-media pieces. According to the board’s announcement, students from kindergarten through grade 12 and all board employees are eligible to submit work for consideration.

The initiative emphasizes community-led designs to represent the board’s vision rather than using external marketing firms, aligning with Grand Erie’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan focus on belonging. The board says selected pieces will appear in official publications and on digital platforms, and will also be displayed at district sites in Simcoe.

Selected works are expected to be digitized for possible inclusion in the board’s 2026–2027 annual report, though the board describes this as a planned use. The public call did not, at the time of reporting, publish a submission deadline or full usage/rights details.

Local Simcoe schools such as Simcoe Composite School and Elgin Avenue Public School are cited as likely sources of submissions, giving students and staff across the community an opportunity for district-wide recognition of their creativity.
