The Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society is launching a new Farmer’s Market at the local historic grain elevator starting May 2, 2026. This new weekly event in Spruce Grove, Alberta, aims to create a central gathering space for the community while supporting local food producers and artisans.

The market will be held at the grain elevator site, which was built in 1958 and saved from demolition by the society in 1995. The location has been officially recognized as a Provincial Historic Resource since October 2020.

To prepare for the opening, the society is currently looking for a Farmer’s Market Manager to handle weekly operations and recruit vendors. This person will be responsible for making sure the market runs smoothly and follows all necessary safety and business rules.

The organization is inviting local growers, makers, bakers, and entrepreneurs to apply for vendor spots. The goal of the project is to celebrate agriculture and provide a new venue for local commerce at the heritage destination.

Formed in 1972, the Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society focuses on preserving local history and improving quality of life. The site already features a museum and archives, and the new market is intended to build on the area’s popularity with residents and visitors.
