Experienced business owners in Spruce Grove, Alberta, can now apply to become mentors for the 2026 SMARTstart program. This eight-month initiative is designed to help new and aspiring entrepreneurs build successful local companies by providing them with training and practical advice.

According to Invest Spruce Grove, the city is looking for established professionals who are willing to share their industry expertise to help these early-stage businesses grow. The program gives participants access to business planning tools and networking opportunities within the community.

The city originally launched the program in 2025 to support local economic development and improve the success rate of small businesses. By matching seasoned experts with those just starting out, the city hopes to create a stronger and more connected business environment.

Local business owners interested in volunteering can find more information through the city’s official social media profile. The recruitment for the 2026 group is currently active as of March 06, 2026.
