The City of Spruce Grove, Alberta, is hosting a workshop on March 18, 2026, to help residents learn how to purchase an existing business in the community. The session is designed to provide people with the basic knowledge and practical steps needed to successfully take over a local company.
The event, titled Thinking about Buying a Business? Start Here, will take place from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. This initiative is part of the city’s effort to support local economic growth and help current business owners find people to take over their operations when they are ready to move on.
These programs are guided by the city’s Economic Development Strategy. The Economic Development Advisory Committee also provides recommendations to the local government to ensure these efforts meet the needs of the business community.
By offering this workshop, the city hopes to create a more stable environment for local shops and services. The goal is to encourage residents to invest back into the community by becoming the next generation of business owners in Spruce Grove.
