The St. Paul & District Chamber of Commerce is inviting business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to a two-day Business Summit on October 23 and 24, 2026. The event aims to explore practical strategies, emerging trends, and collaborative solutions to strengthen the local economy in St. Paul and the surrounding region.
The summit will take place at a time when provincial business leaders are expressing concern about economic uncertainty. At the Alberta Chambers of Commerce 88th Annual General Meeting in May 2026, delegates adopted 28 policy resolutions focusing on workforce development, economic competitiveness, and rural economic sustainability. ACC Chair Robin Bobocel said uncertainty has become one of the most significant economic forces affecting Alberta, acting like a tax that slows investment and complicates hiring decisions.
The St. Paul & District Chamber of Commerce serves as the voice of the local business community, offering advocacy, connections, and resources. The Chamber’s work is supported by corporate sponsors including Cornerstone Co-operative, St. Paul Dodge, and Canadian Natural. The town of St. Paul serves as a major trading center for approximately 35,000 people in northeastern Alberta, with an economy supported by agriculture and oil and gas industries.
Local business support organizations such as Community Futures St. Paul – Smoky Lake Region also play a role in the region, providing free business planning, coaching, and loans up to $150,000 for rural entrepreneurs. The two-day summit builds on the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to provide professional development and networking opportunities for businesses of all sizes.
