The St. Theresa Point Community Wellness and Prevention program is hosting a regional ice hockey tournament in St. Theresa Point, Manitoba, from March 9 to March 14, 2026. This event brings together players and families from across the four Anisininew Nations to promote health and sports engagement.
Official games are set to start on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Organizers will share the full list of game times on that day for everyone in the community to follow.
The tournament features several categories; however, the division for boys aged 14-17 was removed because only nine players signed up to participate.
Organizers changed the other groups so the event could continue as planned for the fly-in community. St. Theresa Point is located on the southern shore of Island Lake and relies on these gatherings to keep residents active and connected.
The Anisininew Nations use these sports events to help people from different areas spend time together and maintain regional ties.
