Recent updates to federal leadership records show that Bradley Monias is no longer listed as a councillor for St. Theresa Point, Manitoba. The Indigenous Services Canada First Nation Profiles entry for St. Theresa Point was modified on Jan. 14, 2026, to reflect the leadership change.

The administrative update follows a tragic float plane accident on Sept. 13, 2025, that killed four community members, including Bradley Monias. Local news reports confirmed the identities of those who died and described the loss as having a major impact on the community’s administration and leadership capacity.

The current council, led by Chief Raymond Flett, will continue to manage community affairs with a reduced team of seven councillors until the next general election expected in late 2026. The leadership is also contending with high-priority files, including St. Theresa Point’s involvement in legal actions and recent Federal Court findings related to on-reserve housing and drinking water.

The Island Lake Tribal Council, which provides regional support, had previously listed Monias as a councillor at the council’s Nov. 20, 2023 inauguration. Local reporting and community statements have described him as active in local infrastructure work and an advocate for youth and community safety. The Indigenous Services Canada registry update indicates the federal leadership records now reflect the vacancy for the remainder of the current term.
