Statistics Canada is recruiting local interviewers in St. Theresa Point, Manitoba, to collect data for the 2026 Census. Enumerators (non‑supervisory positions) are scheduled to work door‑to‑door from May to July 2026 and earn $25.87 an hour for short‑term contracts, plus authorized expenses.

Candidates must apply online through the Census Jobs portal and complete a security screening (such as a Reliability Status). Workers should be ready for flexible hours, and be prepared to reach homes by air or via seasonal winter roads: St. Theresa Point is a fly‑in community accessible by aircraft and by winter ice roads.

Hiring local residents—especially Oji‑Cree speakers—helps ensure accurate counts in this fly‑in community and addresses past undercounts in remote First Nations. Census data guide funding for schools, housing, health care and other services for the next five years.

Early data collection in remote areas is scheduled to begin in February 2026, so recruitment in northern communities begins months ahead of the main census. Crew leader (supervisory) positions are also available at $31.32 an hour (plus authorized expenses); crew leaders’ employment period is scheduled from March to July 2026.

Interested applicants should visit the Census Jobs portal soon, since the St. Theresa Point campaign is on an accelerated timeline and recruitment there is likely to be completed earlier than the main recruitment window elsewhere in Canada.
