The St. Thomas Curling Club hosted a free open house for residents on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in St. Thomas, Ontario. The event offered free lessons and equipment to help neighbors learn the sport without having to buy their own gear.

The day began at 10 a.m. with a session for beginners followed by a casual game for anyone who wanted to play. Visitors also watched a live broadcast of the Men’s Curling Gold Medal Game from the Winter Olympics inside the clubhouse.

According to a community update on St. Thomas Happenings, participants only needed to bring clean running shoes and wear warm, flexible clothing. The club provided all other necessary equipment to ensure people of all ages could try the activity.

The open house helped build local interest before the city hosts the 2026 Canadian Curling Club Championships this autumn. According to Curling Canada, the national tournament will bring teams to the community from November 22 to November 28, 2026.
