Railway City Tourism has released its Summer Events Roundup for the upcoming season in St. Thomas, Ontario, highlighting a full season of community festivals and arts events. The roundup aims to help locals plan summer activities while bringing more visitors to downtown shops and historical sites.
The Canada Southern (CASO) Station acts as a central hub for the city’s festivals, with other major events also scheduled at Pinafore Park and the St. Thomas Elevated Park. The upcoming lineup features the return of the Railway City Music & Arts Festival and the Track to the Future Mural Festival; the Track to the Future project has helped bring over 50 murals to the community in recent years.
Local business leaders with the St. Thomas Downtown Development Board say these events bring measurable foot traffic to Talbot Street. Local leaders also link the city’s recent economic growth to the arrival of the PowerCo (Volkswagen) EV battery plant; they say that investment is fueling infrastructure and hospitality expansion and is expected to increase demand for entertainment and local dining.
Organizers say the summer plan focuses on celebrating the city’s history as a railway hub while also highlighting it as a modern place for artists. Residents can use digital maps provided by Railway City Tourism to take self-guided tours of new murals and heritage landmarks throughout the warmer months.
