According to The Weather Network, a Yellow Blowing Snow Advisory is in effect for Stanley, Manitoba, on February 27, 2026. The notice warns that high winds and drifting snow will reduce visibility and make local roads slippery for the remainder of the day and into the night.
The weather event follows a severe blizzard earlier in the week on February 24, which left significant fresh snow available to be redistributed by the current winds. Regional gusts are expected to reach between 70 and 80 kilometres per hour, creating near-zero visibility in open areas. Temperatures in the Rural Municipality of Stanley are forecast to drop sharply from a daytime high of 1°C to an overnight low of -22°C.
The drifting snow and freezing conditions are expected to make travel hazardous on major routes such as Highway 3 and PTH 14. These conditions will likely impact afternoon school bus routes for the Garden Valley and Western School Divisions, as well as deliveries and farm vehicles operating in the agricultural hub.
Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure has prepared provincial snow removal crews to clear highways as conditions change. Residents are encouraged to secure any loose outdoor equipment and check for travel updates via Manitoba 511 before heading out.
