Significant snow and possible blizzard conditions are expected to arrive in Stanley, Manitoba, between February 16 and February 18, 2026. The Weather Network has issued a warning for the region, which follows a fog advisory already in place on February 15, 2026. This change in weather will likely cause travel delays and might affect daily services for people living in the area.

Because Monday, February 16, 2026, is Louis Riel Day, schools and many local services are already closed for the holiday. The storm is more likely to cause problems for the Tuesday morning commute. The Western School Division and the Garden Valley School Division usually decide if they need to cancel school buses by 6:45 a.m. depending on visibility and road safety.

Crews are ready to clear the streets as soon as it is safe for them to work. The RM of Stanley uses a priority list to make sure emergency routes and school bus paths are cleared first. After those main roads are finished, workers will move on to other streets and intersections.

The RM of Stanley also has a deal with the province to plow certain provincial roads nearby. This deal is only for clearing snow and does not include putting down sand or salt. Local residents are encouraged to prepare their cars and homes for the snow and to check for road closures before they leave the house.
