The Morden RCMP is asking for the public’s help after three males broke into a Manitoba Hydro station and stole items worth more than an estimated $14,000. The break-in occurred in the early hours of Dec. 28, 2025, at the facility on Road 18 North just off Highway 3 in the Rural Municipality of Stanley; Morden RCMP say they were notified at approximately 4:05 a.m.
According to a Jan. 15, 2026 news release and media reports, investigators determined the suspects were inside the building for less than 10 minutes. They took several ground chains, Manitoba Hydro–specific spare electrical fuses and other smaller items before fleeing the scene.
Police have released surveillance images and descriptions of the three males. Descriptions provided by the RCMP include: Suspect 1 — dark blue jacket or hoodie with white cursive writing on the front and a circular decal on the left arm, a grey hood, a black cap and grey winter boots; Suspect 2 — dark black/blue jacket and black boots; Suspect 3 — dark grey jacket with a white square decal on the left chest and black boots. At this time there is no vehicle description available.
A similar break-in investigated by Morden RCMP occurred in July 2018 at a Manitoba Hydro site near the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 14.
