The free service is part of the Manitoba Enhanced Pharmacare Program, which has provided 100 per cent coverage for birth control and HIV medications since April 15, 2025. Residents of Stanley can access this coverage by visiting their local pharmacy and presenting their Manitoba Health card along with their prescription.
Provincial officials released the update after reports that some people were still being charged at the counter, which is against current policy.
