The organization Pembina Valley Pride has announced it will hold its 2026 regional celebration in Winkler, Manitoba, on June 13, 2026. This public event is designed to help local people feel more included in the community, including those living in the nearby RM of Stanley.

The day will include a community march and a rally featuring guest speakers and family activities. PembinaValleyOnline and Pembina Valley Pride materials say the organization rotates its main event among towns in the region (including Morden, Altona and Winkler) so communities across the Pembina Valley can participate. The goal is to show local youth that they can find support and a sense of belonging in their own home towns.

Organizers say they are coordinating planning and security measures with the City of Winkler as they prepare for the event. This planning follows previous challenges in the region, such as in 2024 when online threats were made against food-truck vendors at the Pride event in Altona, as reported by CBC News.

Organizers plan for local non-profit groups and community booths to provide information and resources during the celebration. They believe that hosting the event in Winkler will help build a stronger, more welcoming community for residents across the Pembina Valley.
