On January 27, 2026, the Steinbach Pistons defeated the Winkler Flyers 3–1 during a home game at the Southeast Event Centre in Steinbach, Manitoba. This victory adds to the Pistons’ mid-season momentum in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Forward Jack Greenwell opened the scoring in the first period to give the home team an early lead. Goaltender Chris Quizi was a major factor in the win, making 36 saves and helping to thwart a late comeback attempt by the visitors.

The game was played in the community’s new 2,400-seat arena, which replaced the aging T.G. Smith Centre in 2025. Coach Paul Dyck has said the high energy from local fans in the new building has provided a significant advantage for the players during home games.

According to a local report, the win adds to a successful run for the team against their regional rivals this season. The Pistons have been intent on turning the tables against the Winkler Flyers since losing the Turnbull Cup to them in April 2024.

Score details from the night were confirmed on the GX94 Radio scoreboard. The Pistons will now prepare for upcoming road games as they look to maintain their position in the standings.
