The Stettler Public Library in Stettler, Alberta, runs a weekly Dungeons & Dragons program for teens and adults (ages 13 and up) that occupies a mid-week evening slot; participants should check the library’s events calendar or call to confirm the current day and time. The program blends storytelling, strategy and community and is designed to be accessible to newcomers.
Earlier D&D nights were held on Tuesdays; the library has adjusted its schedule at times to meet growing local interest. Library staff say the sessions help players develop literacy and collaborative skills through reading adventure modules and group storytelling. The games take place at the Stettler Public Library (located on the second floor of the Stettler Recreation Centre, 6202 44 Ave) and the library supplies game materials such as rulebooks, dice and character sheets.
Jasper, the group’s regular Dungeon Master, facilitates the campaigns and helps guide players through imaginative quests. Light snacks are provided during sessions (these are often supported by the Friends of the Library). Evening sessions run roughly two hours (check the events calendar for exact start and end times).
Registration is free but recommended to secure a spot; interested participants can call the library at 403-742-2292. Beginners are welcome.
