The Town of Stonewall, Manitoba, will host a family celebration for Louis Riel Day on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Stonewall Quarry Park. The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., offering residents outdoor activities and live music to honor the province’s history and culture.

A highlight of the day will be a live performance by Morgan Grace, a Métis fiddler from East Selkirk. The concert is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the Heritage Arts Centre and is free to attend. Grace has gained national attention—she performed in the Senate and for King Charles III and Queen Camilla during their 2025 visit to Ottawa.

Families can take part in several outdoor activities, including public skating on the park’s outdoor rinks and gathering around bonfires. Hot chocolate and bannock will be available for a small donation; proceeds will help support local youth programs.

The celebration is being held with support from the Manitoba Métis Federation to help the community learn about the legacy of Louis Riel. Ample free parking is available at the Main Street entrance of the park. The Heritage Arts Centre is wheelchair accessible, including the performance hall and restrooms.
