As of January 28, 2026, Manitoba Health is warning residents in Stonewall to monitor themselves for measles symptoms after people were potentially exposed at local sites listed on the province’s exposure page. The province is experiencing its largest measles outbreak in decades, with 351 confirmed cases reported since February 2025.

Manitoba Health’s active exposure list shows two Stonewall locations: Beyond Bread (368 Main St.) on Sept. 26, 2025, and Interlake Medicentres (Suite 2–330 3rd Ave. S.) on Oct. 1, 2025. Anyone who visited those locations at the specified dates and times should watch for symptoms (such as fever, runny nose, red eyes, or a rash) and follow the monitoring timeline provided on the exposure list.

Provincial data show that just over 86 per cent of confirmed cases have been in people who were not vaccinated against measles. Public health officials say immunization is the best protection against the virus.

Residents can find the full, up-to-date list of exposure sites on the Manitoba Health website. If you develop symptoms, Manitoba Health advises you to isolate at home and call your clinic or health-care provider before visiting so staff can take steps to reduce exposure to others. Measles is highly contagious and spreads through respiratory droplets; viral particles can remain in the air for up to two hours after an infectious person has left a space.
