Stonewall, Manitoba, unveiled its 2026 grant application program in a notice posted on the town website on December 15, 2025, inviting local non-profit groups, community organizations, developers and business owners to apply for municipal funding. The town says the grants will support recreational, cultural and non-profit/charitable projects, and this year’s cycle also highlights economic development incentives aimed at boosting housing and commercial revitalization.
Eligible applicants can submit a completed “Schedule A” form for community grants or apply directly to the Heart of Our Town Incentive Program (HOTI) and the Commercial Revitalization and Incentive Support Program (CRISP). Community groups and charities can find details on the Town’s Community Grants page (https://stonewall.ca/p/community-grants), while information on multi-family housing incentives is available in the HOT Incentive Program Policy (https://www.stonewall.ca/p/hot-incentive-program-for-economic-development-in-the-heart-of-our-town).
The HOTI offers a maximum grant of up to $5,000 per eligible housing unit (calculated as up to 40% of the Capital Lot Fee on a per-unit basis, to a maximum of $5,000) to encourage construction of multi-family residences. The program term runs from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2029.
CRISP, launched in late October 2025, provides financial support for commercial revitalization and business/property improvements in the town’s commercial areas.
Applications must be received at the Town Office or emailed to info@stonewall.ca by March 1, 2026, to be considered for inclusion in the municipal budget. According to the town’s notice, applications must meet that deadline for Council to give proper consideration; late submissions may not be considered. Council members are Mayor Sandra Smith, Deputy Mayor Peter Bullivant, and Councillors Walter Badger, Ron Maryniuk and Kimberly Newman.
For full program guidelines and application forms, applicants should consult the Town of Stonewall website pages referenced above and contact the Town Office with any questions.
