Residents of Stratford, Ontario, will have a rare chance to see inside the community’s most famous landmarks for free during the Doors Open Stratford event on April 18 and 19, 2026. This community event allows the public to explore heritage buildings, natural spaces, and cultural landscapes that are usually closed to the public or charge entry fees.

The City of Stratford and Destination Stratford are co-hosting the weekend as part of the 25th season of the province-wide Doors Open Ontario program. This marks the first time the event has been held in the community in approximately ten years.

Christina Phillips, a manager at Destination Stratford, said the organization is thrilled to bring the event back and lead the way as the first Ontario community to start the 2026 season. The weekend will offer a variety of tours and cultural activities, including a special musical performance after dark.

Featured locations for the event include the Perth County Courthouse, City Hall, and the Stratford Perth Museum. By reopening these historic and cultural spaces, organizers hope to provide residents with new perspectives on the landmarks that define the history of the community.
