The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance has announced that the outdoor courtyard at Stratford General Hospital in Stratford, Ontario, will close for renovations starting March 23, 2026. This temporary closure means that patients, families, and staff will lose access to the space typically used for fresh air and breaks.

The hospital courtyard serves as a quiet zone for residents during long stays or difficult medical events. While the renovation project aims to improve the site, the healthcare alliance has not yet confirmed when the area will be open for use again.

People who normally use the courtyard for meetings or rest will need to find alternative outdoor spaces on the property during the construction. Stratford General Hospital has not yet detailed if the work will cause noise or dust issues for those in nearby wings of the building.

The management team will likely share more updates as the project moves forward. This work is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and modernize the aging buildings at the hospital site.
