Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for Stratford, Ontario, as well as Mitchell and Southern Perth County on March 13, 2026. This storm is expected to bring dangerous travel conditions and heavy snow to the region throughout the day and night.
Forecasters are calling for total snow amounts between 10 and 20 cm. Very strong winds are also expected, with gusts reaching up to 70 km/h inland and up to 90 km/h in areas closer to Lake Huron.
The combination of falling snow and high winds will likely cause widespread blowing snow. Drivers should be aware that visibility could suddenly drop to near zero at times.
Local residents should also prepare for possible road closures and utility outages as the storm moves through. The hazardous weather is expected to last until the system clears later tonight.
