The Maritime Junior Hockey League has announced that the postseason will begin on Friday, March 13, 2026. This marks the start of the championship chase for the Summerside Western Capitals in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, as the regular season comes to an end.
The tournament, officially called the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, brings the top local teams together to compete in a series of high-stakes games. The Western Capitals enter this year’s competition after a successful run that saw them ranked 20th in the country by the Canadian Junior Hockey League on March 9, 2026.
Local fans can expect more intensity at the rink as the team plays for the league title. The winner of this multi-round tournament will earn the chance to represent the Maritimes in a national championship later this spring.
